Amazing Maasai Girls Project is committed to supporting each child, from the moment she's most at risk after elementary school — through secondary school, through university — and graduate her as a qualified professional and a proven community leader.
This seven-year commitment can be divided between three phases, focused on: protection, education & leadership.
Phase 1: Protect
Boarding school keeps her safe.
The most dangerous years in a Maasai girl's life are 10th through 12th grade. Boarding school is the single most effective intervention we've ever found.
By the time a Maasai girl finishes primary school, she is already navigating enormous pressure. In her community, completing secondary school is not the expectation — marriage is. FGM is. Staying home to support the household is.
Boarding school removes a girl from that environment entirely. She eats, sleeps, and studies in a protected space for three years. She builds friendships with girls on the same path. She discovers what she's capable of when no one is asking her to cook, fetch water, or prepare for marriage.
Boarding school is the foundation. Without it, nothing else in our model is possible. University requires a secondary school diploma. The Capstone requires a university scholar. It starts here — with a girl at a boarding school in Laikipia, finally able to just be a student.

How we find the girls who need us most.
01.
Community referral
We work with primary school teachers and community liaisons in northern Laikipia. They know which Grade 8 and 9 girls have the ability but no path forward. They make the first call.
02.
Academic review
We review KCPE results and school records. We're not looking for the top scorer in Kenya — we're looking for ability that would flourish with support.
03.
Family visits
Our in-country coordinators visit shortlisted families. We assess circumstances, motivations, and the girl's own voice about her future.
04.
Enrollment
Selected girls are enrolled in a partner boarding school — currently St. Francis and St. Louise — at the start of Grade 10. We cover fees. They focus on school.

St. Francis Girls Secondary School

Our original partner school and the primary placement for AMGP scholars. A school within the community with a culture that values girls' potential. A decade of partnership means the school knows our girls, and we know how to support them there.
St. Louise Girls Secondary School
NANYUKI - LAIKIPIA COUNTY
Our second partner school, added as AMGP grew. Some girls are better matched to St. Louise's strong academic culture — we make placement decisions based on individual circumstances and school fit, not proximity alone.
After three years of protection,
every graduate goes to university.
In 2026, AMGP made its biggest strategic shift: every secondary school graduate who qualifies now receives a university scholarship.
