Why we run

Running through
the African bush —
for the girls who live there.

The Amazing Maasai Marathon began as a race to support girls' education in Maasai communities. Today, it remains the only marathon that runs directly through Laikipia's conservancies, villages, and open savanna — at altitude, on trail, among wildlife — and every entry raises funds for Maasai girls' scholarships.

100% of charitable proceeds go to the Amazing Maasai Girls Project (AMGP), supporting secondary school and university scholarships for girls at risk of early marriage and FGM. Every finisher has helped keep a girl in school.

"Running through the Maasai lands changed how I see the world. And knowing what our entries fund — that makes you want to come back every year."
