Grade 10 Students
Marion Parkirewa | Parkirewa Miriam is a Grade 10 student at St. Francis who has a passion for music and education. She loves singing songs and enjoys her studies, particularly Kiswahili literature (Fasihi Simulizi) and Christian Religious Education (C.R.E.). Parkirewa is a focused and ambitious young woman who dreams of becoming a teacher. She is dedicated to her studies and finds joy in learning new things that will help her shape her future. She is deeply grateful for the support of her sponsors, which allows her to enjoy her life and work toward her goal of making a positive impact through teaching.
Jecinta Nkaiseri | Jesinta is a Grade 10 student at St. Francis Girls High School. Her favorite subject is Christian Religious Education, and she is a talented athlete who enjoys running, playing football, and reading storybooks. Jesinta describes herself as someone who loves interacting with others and dreams of joining senior school to eventually improve her family’s living standards. Coming from a background with very limited means, she is deeply grateful for the sponsorship that allows her to pursue her education and shape a better future for herself and her parents.
Bashir Nyaruai | Nyaruai is a Grade 10 student at St. Francis Girls High School. She is an active student who enjoys studying Christian Religious Education (C.R.E.), playing netball, and touring new places. In her free time, she loves reading storybooks, playing games, and participating in singing and dancing. Amina comes from a family of five in Kiwanja Ndege and is raised by a single mother. She is deeply motivated to continue her education so she can improve her family's living standards in the future. She is incredibly grateful for the support that allows her to attend boarding school and pursue her dreams.
Maria Sepeina | Sepeina is a Grade 10 student at St. Francis Senior School. She is a dedicated science student who enjoys studying Chemistry, Biology, and Home Science. Outside of the classroom, she loves playing volleyball and interacting with her fellow students. Maria lives with her grandmother and describes her school as a second home where she feels protected and supported. Since her family is unable to afford her school fees, she is incredibly grateful to her sponsors for providing her with the chance to learn. Maria dreams of becoming a nurse in the future so she can care for others, and she is thankful for the opportunity to work toward that goal.
Grace Nasieku Parsoroi | Nasieku is a Grade 10 student at St. Francis Girls Secondary School. She is an enthusiastic learner who excels in Geography, History, and Business studies. Grace is very active in her school community, finding great joy in music and playing football. Grace is a positive and resilient young woman who feels deeply supported by her school and her teachers. She is incredibly grateful for her sponsorship, noting that the opportunity has brought great peace of mind and happiness to both her and her mother. She looks forward to her studies and is thankful for the "scholarship" that is helping her shape her future.
Everlyn Nanyori Ntiyia | Nanyori is a Grade 10 East student at St. Francis Girls Senior School. She is a dedicated student who enjoys Christian Religious Education, netball. Evalynne is also an active individual who values physical health, noting that she especially enjoys Tuesdays because of the school runs that keep her healthy. Evalynne describes herself as a social person who loves interacting with other students and playing games. She comes from a family with a very poor background that requires support, and she is deeply motivated to achieve her dreams so she can help her parents and improve her family's future. Naleng Suran Kididing | Kididing is a Grade 10 West student at St. Francis Secondary School. She has a deep love for music and Biology, and she finds great joy in her studies. Naleng is a hardworking and determined student who particularly enjoys the structure of her school days, which allow her the dedicated time she needs to focus on her education. Kdiding is focused on her future and dreams of becoming a doctor. She is committed to working hard in high school to achieve this goal and eventually help others through her medical career. Rina Sinore | Sinore is a Grade 10 student at St. Francis Secondary School. She is a dedicated student who enjoys studying History, Fasihi, and Business Studies. Coming from a very needy background, she has faced challenges such as not having enough food, but she remains focused on her education. Stella Seneiyan | Seneiyan is a Grade 10 student at St. Francis Senior School. She is a dedicated learner who enjoys studying History, reading storybooks, and playing netball. Stellah especially looks forward to Mondays because she enjoys attending the school assembly. Seneiyan is a motivated and hardworking young woman who is determined to use her education to change her life story. Growing up in a very poor household with a single mother who struggles to provide, she faces the challenge of lacking basic necessities. However, these difficulties drive her to work even harder in school so she can improve her family's background. She is incredibly thankful for the support of her sponsors, which helps her stay focused on her dreams.
Nancy Kamasiai | Kamasiai is a Grade 10 East student at St. Francis High School. She is a passionate student who loves Computer Studies and enjoys improving her coding skills during her leisure time. Outside of her studies, Kamasiai enjoys reading novels, listening to music, and is a dedicated fan of the Arsenal football team. Kamasiai describes herself as a hardworking student who is proud of joining St. Francis. Coming from a large family of eight, she faces challenges such as a lack of learning materials, but she remains motivated by remembering her roots and focusing on her future goals. She dreams of becoming an accountant and is deeply grateful for the "golden moment" of sponsorship that allows her to pursue her education and reach for her dreams.
Lillian Leyiampen | Leyiampen is a Grade 10 student at St. Francis Girls School who enjoys learning, playing volleyball, and attending church on Wednesday evenings with her family. She works hard in her education despite coming from a very poor background, as her parents struggle to support her schooling and she faces a lack of storybooks for reading. She is a hopeful, caring young girl who is motivated to learn and dreams of being the best person she can be, while also helping her family. With such determination and heart, Lilian is destined to go far.
Everlyn Minyarit | Minyarit is a student at St. Francis School who enjoys subjects like English, History, and CRE, and loves playing football on Mondays. Though some subjects are challenging, she faces them with determination and a strong desire to improve. She is a proud and motivated student with a goal to be the best she can be, not just for herself but for those around her.
Liza Timpiyian Moyiare | Moyiare is a Grade 10 student at St. Francis School whose favourite subjects are History and Geography. Her family are good authors and she is proud of the many activities her school offers this year. She works hard to improve her learning and dreams of becoming a teacher one day. Grade 11 Students
Rose Larpei | Rose is 16 years old and in grade 11. She is one of 4 children, with a single mother. As a student at St Francis Boarding school, her favorite subject is History. Rose works hard in all her classes to achieve her goal to become a lawyer. She hopes her path as a lawyer will allow her to become financially stable so she can make a change and better her community.
Nancy Sarbibi | Nancy is 17 years old and is in grade 11. She enjoys studying English and describes herself as hardworking. She is raised by a single parent whose income is unpredictable. Nancy sees becoming a nurse as a way to give back to those who have supported her. She is so happy to be an Amazing Girl!
Lilian Kilwa | Lilian is in grade 11 at St Francis. She hopes to maintain good grades in order to become a nurse and help her community. At 17 years old, she describes herself as hardworking and enthusiastic. Lilian is being raised by a single parent who has several children to support. In a large family within this Maasai community, the education of young women is usually abandoned. Lilian brings all her energy and focus to the classroom to make the most of the chance she has been given.
Catherine Lentiya | Catherine is truly thankful for the opportunity to continue learning at high school. She enjoys studying mathematics and considers herself quite a logical thinker. At age 17, in grade 11, Catherine is an orphan and has had to grow up quickly without the support of parents. She is sponsored because school fees were totally out of reach. Catherine promises to make her donors proud!
Dorcas Naeku | Dorcas is 17 years old. She enjoys studying physics and playing volleyball. Dorcas describes herself as hardworking, responsible and courageous. Dorcas' family did not have the means to send her or her sisters to high school. She thanks God and the Amazing Maasai Girls Project for sponsoring her to shape her future life. She is deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue her education.
Rose Lenkanan | Rose is 17 years old. Her dream is to become a doctor someday. Rose is one of several children and she understands she must strive and stay on course with her studies. She is an orphan and has had to grow up quickly without the support of parents. A future in medicine will help to secure her future and to pay it forward.
Jackline Nasha | Jackline enjoys science and math. She is 17y years old and plans to be a doctor. Jackline describes herself as hardworking, responsible and obedient. She is grateful to be sponsored by the AMGP for high school.
Zainab Kimani | Zainabu is 19 years old and enjoys studying English. She describes herself as disciplined and hardworking. Zainabu is motivated by helping those in need and wants to become a teacher to support girls like her, whose parents cannot afford school fees. Zainabu is one of 3 children. Her hobby is singing. For Zainabu, singing carries her through both happy times and tough moments, including exams.
Annet Toyee | Annet is 17 years old and has a passion for soccer. She enjoys playing with her classmates and is quietly very competitive! Annet describes herself as humble and hardworking. With seven siblings in the household, education was out of reach for Annet before she obtained her AMGP scholarship. Annet is determined to make those who support her proud.
Rose Ntepeina Legei – Rose describes herself as hardworking – indeed, she is truly a dedicated student! Rose depends on AMGP support because her family has no way to fund her education. Rose is passionate about becoming a doctor and using her skills to help others from her community thrive.
Dorkas Nempiris | Dorkas is 16 years old and describes herself as honest, hardworking and courageous. She enjoys studying history. Fast-forward to beyond college, Dorcas plans to become a lawyer to serve her community.
Eunice Nadupoi | Eunice is 17 years old. She is a sophomore in high school and most enjoys studying biology. Eunice wants to become a doctor to save lives and uplift those around her. Eunice’s family is large but only her mother is around, which means the AMGP scholarship is essential for her studies. With such a sense of purpose, we know Eunice will go far.
Grade 12 Students
Yvonne Kaskilil | Yvonne is 18 years old. She enjoys studying CRE (Christian Religious Studies) and history. Yvonne describes herself as honest, helpful, courageous. She is one of 2 children. She plans to use her talent in writing to pursue a career in media.
Celestine Chemu | Celestine is 17 years old and a junior in high school. She hopes to become a lecturer someday. She describes herself as hardworking, respectful and honest. Celestine has been raised by a single parent who does their best with what they have. Education is important to her family, but financially it's out of reach. With so many siblings, educational support is spread thin. Celestine believes that becoming a lecturer will allow her to make a meaningful contribution to her community in the future.
Magdalyn | Magdalyn is 18 years old. She enjoys studying home science and considers it her favorite subject. Magdalyn describes herself as hardworking, focused and disciplined. Her family has faced long stretches without reliable employment. She comes from a home where work is scarce, and resources are limited. Magdayln hopes to one day work in Tourism and Management.
Pamela Monto | Pamela is 17 years old and a junior in high school. She hopes to become a nurse. She describes herself as persevering , honest and respectful. Pamela has brothers who are in high school too, but her own place is only possible thanks to the Amazing Maasai Girls Project. Pamela's dream is to use her future as a nurse to uplift those around her.
Banis Naiputar | Banis is 17 years old and her wish is to become a veterinarian because she has always loved animals of all kinds. She lives in a home where work is scarce. Banis is working hard in her studies to achieve her goals and to help her younger siblings in the future. Pursuing her dream to become a veterinary doctor, Eunice wants to establish herself and then drive her family and community forward.
Brenda Nalesiai | Brenda is 17 years old and enjoys studying biology. She describes herself as hardworking, obedient and very self-driven. Her mother occasionally takes on small jobs, but they aren't enough to keep her in school. Brenda is one of 3 children. Her hobby is singing - she loves music. Brenda's dream is to secure a career in medicine to uplift those around her.
Lina Cecilia Lesah | Lina is 17 years old. She hopes to become a teacher within her community after school. Lina is working hard to order to help her younger sisters and brothers, who will also lack the means to attend to school without a scholarship. If given the chance, she would use her role as a teacher to serve her community. Lina's sense of responsibility and care for others is clear!
Naitabou Huson Piroris | Naitabou is 18 years old and enjoys studying geography. She describes herself as hardworking, respectful and humble. Naitabou has a brother who was joining high school in the same year has her, and her family could not pay for both. With the right support, she hopes to become join the military and inspire change at home.
Maryann Wawuda | Maryann hopes to become an aircraft engineer. She is 17 years old and describes herself as hardworking, courageous, and loves to play football (soccer). Her family has faced long stretches without reliable employment. With several children to support, educational costs are out of reach for her family. Maryann's hobby is singing. She says she's incredibly grateful for her place in school and will make her donors very proud!
Selina Naretu | Salina hopes to become an air stewardess someday. Currently 18 years old, Selina depends on support because her family has no way to fund her education. She is one of 4 children and is planning to become financially independent in order to help her siblings and others in her community.
Lesekefefi Mirriam Noangida | Lesekefefi is 18 years old and enjoys studying home science. She describes herself as hardworking, kind and humble. She is being raised by a single parent. She has brothers who are in high school in the same grade. Lesekefefi dreams of becoming an air stewardess so she can travel the world.
Blessing Nashipae | Blessing hopes to work as a nurse in her community. At 17, she describes herself as hardworking and helpful, loves playing soccer and running. Blessing’s energetic character makes a positive impact in both class and extra-curricular activities. Her parent could not pay for both her sister and her to attend secondary school, but Blessing performed well during her K.C.P.E examination (high school entrance exams) so she was able to obtain an AMGP scholarship.
Munyaki Kipish | Munyaki enjoys studying mathematics at school. She describes herself as hopeful, kind and courageous. Munyaki is one of several children, which makes finances a significant challenge for her family. Given the chance, she will go to teaching college after high school, and use her role as a teacher to serve her community.
Angeline Kaparo | Angeline is 18 years old and a junior in high school. She enjoys studying home science because it’s practical and interesting. Angeline describes herself as hardworking, intelligent and obedient. She is raised by a single parent who does their best with what they have. Her academics and compassion, she explains, will surely lead her to become a successful nurse.
In August 2024, we interviewed five of our Form Four students who are proud Amazing Girls and who participated in our annual fundraiser, the Amazing Maasai Marathon.

This, despite the fact many have lost a parent or parents and have considerable responsibilities when school is out.
These girls are bright and ambitious. They deserve to lead lives in which they have control over their futures. We see their older sisters doing this just. They are Amazing.
